Free Basic Sign Language Online Class
Welcome to the Basic Filipino Sign Language (FSL) Course by the Kakamay Movement! This course is designed to introduce you to the fundamental aspects of FSL, the native sign language of the Deaf community in the Philippines. Our mission is to foster an inclusive society where communication barriers are broken down, and everyone, regardless of their hearing ability, can connect and understand each other.
The Kakamay Movement is dedicated to empowering Deaf individuals and advocating for their rights through education, awareness, and community engagement. By learning FSL, you are not only acquiring a new language but also contributing to a more inclusive society. This course will equip you with the basic skills needed to communicate effectively with Deaf individuals, helping you become a bridge between the hearing and Deaf communities.
Throughout this course, you’ll be introduced to essential vocabulary, phrases, and conversational skills in FSL, all within the context of understanding and respecting Deaf culture. We believe that language learning is most effective when it is paired with cultural understanding, so we’ll also explore the rich and vibrant culture of the Deaf community in the Philippines.
